Important Dates:
With Santa Clara County banning mass gatherings through March due to the spread of COVID-19, California’s Great America delayed its season opener to April 4.
Daily operation begins May 22 and runs through Aug. 10.
South Bay Shores, Great America’s new expanded water park, opens mid-May. The popular food festival Red, White & Brews runs June 27 through July 12.
Halloween Haunt returns Sept. 25, with Shadowlands, which operated at Knott’s Berry Farm for a number of years, replacing Zombie High. WinterFest returns late November.

What’s New?
The largest addition to Great America this season is the revamped water park, South Bay Shores.
The expanded water park will feature seven new water attractions, including four drop slides, two tube slides, and a new lagoon area. Guests will also enjoy new and upgraded food and merchandise locations, upgraded cabanas and a sandy beach play area — all themed to reflect the Northern California coast and South Bay regions.
At a special preview event for season passholders on March 5, Great America announced its “Seasons of Fun.”
The Spring Fiesta, running April 25-26, May 2-3 and May 9-10, will celebrate Hispanic culture with food, live entertainment, colorful décor and more.
Monster Jam: Thunder Alley, which debuted at a handful of other Cedar Fair parks in 2019, will arrive at Great America June 20 through July 12. Park guests can be immersed in an interactive display, and can even take a spin in a monster truck. It is currently unknown where in the park this will take place.
Taste of Orleans will get a makeover this year into Carnivale at Orleans Place, featuring Cajun food, music, a nightly parade and fireworks show.
